Verbier sits at 1,450 metres on a sunny, south-facing plateau, with sweeping views across the Grand Combin massif. Its position gives it long, bright ski days and a village that feels lively without being overwhelming. With Geneva just over two hours away, either by luxurious transfer, train or helicopter, it’s also one of the most accessible high-profile ski resorts in Switzerland.
The skiing is world-class. Verbier forms the heart of the 4 Vallées, offering more than 400 kilometres of pistes and vast off-piste potential. From gentle cruising above La Tzoumaz to the steep, technical terrain of Mont Fort and the legendary Bec des Rosses, the area suits a wide range of abilities, and rewards confident skiers in particular.
It is undoubtedly one of the most-loved, varied and renowned of resorts in Europe. Unlike the ultra-glitzy St Moritz, this Swiss gem attracts regular seasonaires, professional ski teams and the rich and famous.
Away from the slopes, Verbier has a great vibe. Lunch stretches into afternoon après, evenings start casually and build energy, and there’s always somewhere to suit your mood – from relaxed wine bars to late-night clubs. Dining is varied and high quality, and luxury ski accommodation in Verbier ranges from discreet private chalets and refined ski lodges to landmark hotels.

Verbier is widely regarded as one of the most exciting ski areas in Europe, particularly for skiers who enjoy variety and freedom. As part of the 4 Vallées, it offers everything from long, rolling pistes to high-alpine itineraries and some of the Alps’ most famous off-piste routes.
Intermediates enjoy the cruising terrain around Attelas and La Chaux, while advanced skiers gravitate towards Mont Fort, Tortin, and the steeps of the Bec des Rosses – home to the Xtreme Verbier Freeride World Tour final each spring. Snow reliability is strong throughout the season, with skiing up to 3,330 metres and excellent lift infrastructure.
We’ll help you make the most of the area – whether that’s planning routes to avoid bottlenecks, arranging guiding for off-piste days, or organising lessons that actually fit your goals.

If you fancy time away from the pistes during your Verbier luxury ski retreat, there’s plenty to do. Verbier is well set up for non-skiers and rest days, with enchanting wilderness and spectacular views. We’ll organise everything around your schedule.
Verbier is highly snow-reliable, with slopes reaching up to 3,330 metres at Mont Fort. The glacier ensures consistent snow conditions from early December to late April, and modern snowmaking covers key pistes lower in the resort. This altitude advantage makes Verbier one of the most dependable choices for a luxury ski holiday in Switzerland.
Yes, Verbier caters to all levels. Beginners will find excellent nursery slopes near the village, while intermediates can enjoy wide, scenic runs across the 4 Vallées. Advanced skiers and freeride enthusiasts are especially drawn to Verbier for its legendary off-piste terrain, including the Bec des Rosses, home to the Xtreme Verbier competition. Hiring a guide opens up some of the best powder skiing in the Alps.
Verbier has one of the most vibrant après-ski scenes in the Alps. It begins on sun-soaked terraces with champagne and live music and continues late into the night in stylish bars and clubs. From the iconic Farinet to exclusive private members’ venues, Verbier offers a mix of glamour, energy, and exclusivity that appeals to a truly international crowd.
Verbier is renowned for its collection of luxury chalets and boutique hotels. Many chalets feature private spas, swimming pools, cinemas, and staff who provide fully personalised service. Five-star hotels combine traditional Alpine charm with contemporary design, offering ski-in/ski-out access, award-winning spas, and Michelin-starred restaurants. The Camel Collection partners directly with Verbier’s top properties to ensure unparalleled insider access and guest benefits.
The most convenient route is via Geneva Airport, just over two hours by car or private transfer. Zurich Airport is around three hours away. Many of our clients opt for a private transfer or helicopter flight, which reduces travel time to under 45 minutes and provides spectacular views of the Alps. Verbier is also accessible by train to Le Châble, where a gondola links directly to the village centre.
When you book with The Camel Collection, you receive far more than just a chalet reservation. We work directly with Verbier’s most exclusive chalets and hotels, but our service doesn’t stop at securing the property. From private chefs and childcare to ski instructors, transfers, and restaurant reservations, every detail of your stay is arranged seamlessly. Our insider relationships mean you’re welcomed as a valued guest, not just another booking, with access to experiences and services that aren’t available online. The result is a Verbier ski holiday that feels effortless, personalised, and truly exceptional.
Verbier works surprisingly well for families, especially when things are planned properly. Les Moulins, the junior slope near the town centre, is home to the Swiss Ski School’s children’s area and the Les Schtroumpfs crèche. With a magic carpet and gentle button lift, it’s an easy, confidence-building starting point for younger skiers.
The Savoleyres area also offers well-laid-out nursery slopes, and ski schools here are known for their excellent English-speaking instruction across all age groups.
Childcare is flexible and straightforward. Petit Verbier provides everything from a few hours of nanny support to full-time care throughout your stay. They offer a convenient drop-off point at Mountain Air, or can meet you directly at your chalet, giving parents genuine freedom on and off the mountain while the children are well looked after.
Away from skiing, there’s plenty to keep younger travellers engaged. Verbier is home to the longest sledge run in French-speaking Switzerland, dropping 848 metres from the top of Savoleyres down to La Tzoumaz. It’s a brilliant shared experience for older children and adults, although it can be fast and icy at times, so we usually recommend it for ages 12 and up. Sledges can be hired at the top of the lift or from sports shops in the village.
The sports centre adds further variety, with indoor activities including climbing, tennis, squash, basketball, volleyball, and badminton – ideal for rest days or afternoons off the slopes.
We’ll help arrange ski lessons, childcare, equipment fitting, and daily schedules, so luxury family ski holidays in Verbier feel relaxed, well-paced, and enjoyable for everyone involved.
