The main house was built in the 17th century, then remodelled in Georgian times. Capturing the essence of a Georgian family home, its restrained, classical beauty is offset by playful design; while the original working Stable Yard has been transformed into sophisticated accommodation, retaining characteristics harking back to its equestrian past.

The Farmyard is just beyond the cyder orchards, half a mile from Hadspen as the crow flies, this former dairy farm is a place to spread out and lean back, cheek-to-rosy-cheek with grazing livestock and sheltering oaks. Original farm buildings, with a delightfully golden patina, are home to rooms, a pool, bar, snug and all-day kitchen. Coworth Park is located next to Windsor Great Park, near Ascot. It sits in 240 acres of meadow, which, in summer, offer up a hazy carpet of yellow, lavender and pink wild flowers. The house was built in 1776 and its many incarnations throughout history have included an all-girls school and the home of Lords and Ladies.

Today its look is modern-day country house – the 17th-century mansion and polo estate has been treated to an intelligent and eco-friendly modern makeover that’s given it three restaurants (including one with a Michelin star), a spectacular spa and an air of quietly confident grandeur.

The spa sits in timber and glass building, topped with a ‘living roof’ of thyme and lavender and set into the side of a hill. Facilities include a blue-lit pool with underwater music, steam rooms, mood showers and a gym. There are eight light-filled treatment rooms.
